	Our Bar Straightening Capabilities To ensure all materials meet the stringent requirements for further processing, we have invested in the following equipment: 300-Tonne Press: Featuring a 16-metre bed, this press accommodates bars up to 220mm in diameter and 15 metres in length, making it ideal for large-scale projects. 80-Tonne Press: Designed for bars up to 100mm in diameter, this press offers versatility for medium-sized materials. 40-Tonne Press: Suitable for bars up to 50mm in diameter, this press ensures precision for smaller components. Our skilled technicians leverage these presses to straighten various grades of material to tight tolerances, ensuring compatibility with our centreless grinding machines.
Precision and Quality Assurance Achieving precise straightness is crucial for the efficiency of the grinding process. Typically, we straighten bars to within 0.030” / 0.020” to facilitate seamless processing through our grinding machines. For specialised applications, such as marine shafting, we aim for a Total Indicator Reading (TIR) of less than 0.010” for bars exceeding 100mm in diameter, ensuring superior performance and reliability.
